Scarlett Johansson's family race

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds are desperate to start a family.

The pair - who married in an intimate ceremony in September - are reportedly keen to have a child as soon as possible, and are already discussing the best time for Scarlett to conceive.

A source told the Chicago Sun Times newspaper: "Scarlett and Ryan are madly in love and want to start a family sooner rather than later. Scarlett is keen to be a young mom and does not plan to be the sort of women who leaves motherhood too late and starts worrying about her biological clock ticking."

The 23-year-old actress - who recently completed filming her new movie 'He's Not That Into You' - isn't due to start working on her next project 'Amazon' until late next year, prompting speculation now could be the perfect time for her to get pregnant.

The pair are also said to be contemplating adopting a child from an American inner city.

Scarlett and Ryan - who began dating in spring 2007 - tied the knot in a remote resort near Vancouver, Canada.

Just weeks before the ceremony, Scarlett had insisted she had no plans to rush into marriage, claiming she was still enjoying being engaged.

Top swap Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson, Megan Fox, Jessica Biel and Selma Blair are set to feature in a new line of celebrity trading cards.

The PopCardz range, which will be available in five-card packs in US shops from November, has been approved by the stars themselves with all proceeds from sales going to selected charities.

The back of each card includes the star's birth date, hometown, motto, favourite charity, movie, song, book, place, sport, food and a secret - Selma Blair reveals she wore an eye patch for a year when she was seven as she was embarrassed about having a lazy eye.

The 'Hellboy' actress said: "Tabloids are so prevalent, I think this is way for kids - or whoever is collecting them - to find something out about their favourite celebrities, and find out really positive things about them.

"It's a benevolent, cool thing, but I'm sure everyone will be like, 'I'll give you 20 Selma Blairs for one Scarlett Johansson!' "

Other celebrities who appear on the cards include Jared Leto, Ashley Tisdale, Hayden Panettiere, Jessica Alba and Christina Ricci.

PopCardz are the brainchild of Ted Kurie and Christian Troy who used to work as Hollywood agents.

The pair joined forces with entertainment product company A-List Global Media to launch the venture, but insist only celebrities with real talents will feature in the set.

Christian said: "We were really looking for artists who were credible and popular - but not because of scandal."
