'Iron Man 2': Rourke And Johansson OFFICIALLY On Board

It seems that two things have officially been confirmed:

First, actors are big, fat LIARS. It seems that Mickey Rourke, despite confirming his non-involvement with the film, will indeed be part of Iron Man 2 as the whip-wielding villain, Whiplash. You fooled us, Mick, what can we say?

Secondly, casting must be an extremely arduous process. I mean, how else could they have combed through countless candidates to find the PERFECT Black Widow, only to come up with Scarlett Johansson? Well, apparently, that's what they did according to E! Online. It is now officially confirmed that "ScarJo" will play the sexy Russian spy, Black Widow in the film.

I think I've made my thoughts on Scarlett's casting pretty clear, so I will not go down that path any further. I've had my say -- it's out there. As for Rourke, while I admire his comeback story, and I absolutely loved him in The Wrestler, I can't help thinking that his presence in the film, is also a bit of "flavor of the month" casting. While I don't think fans will object to the obvious difference Rourke's version of Whiplash will have in contrast to the comic version (a younger man, who looks more like the love child of Liberace and a Mexican Luchador), it just seems like the role was essentially "given" to him, at the expense of a more comic-accurate, or compelling candidate. I'm not sure why they (the producers...whoever) think that it is necessary to cast "celebrities" in these key roles. The film certainly had no shortage of star power as it already stood. This may be overkill in the casting of tabloid-fodder.

What do you think? Was the casting of these two the right move?

Scarlett Johansson: Neurotic Woody Allen ‘won’t even eat new kind of sandwich’

Scarlett Johansson has revealed that director Woody Allen is too neurotic to try his hand on
new things.

The actress, who has worked with her mentor three times, said that she was done suggesting new matter, including music, to Allen since he refused to budge from his choices.

“One day, I said something about [the singer] Neil Young and he was like, ‘Neil Young? Who’s Neil Young?’” the Daily Express quoted her as saying.

“It’s impossible. He won’t even eat a new kind of sandwich,” she added.

The ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’ star further told Glamour magazine that she had let go of the chance to meet her idol David Bowie to be on the sets of Allen’s ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’.

She said: “I was in Spain shooting when he came in. I said to Woody, ‘If you knew what I sacrificed to be on this set?’

Scarlett Johansson Does UK Cosmopolitan January 2009

Scarlett Johansson proved why she’s one of the world’s hottest women as she graced the cover of Uk’s Cosmopolitan for its January 2009 issue.

The US actress, who made an appearance at the Nobel Comittee Banquet in Oslo this week, made a sultry pose in a bust-enhancing black dress for the sexy shoot.
Scarlett has been doing the rounds recently to promote her new movie “The Spirit”, which is released on New Year’s Day. The film is an adaptation of the comic series of the same name.
The actress broke her silence about wedding Ryan Reynolds. The usually fiercely private actress, 24, calls married life “a very beautiful time for me, saying: “This is a very beautiful time for me. Getting married is a huge moment in anyone’s life, and the few months leading up to it were a little crazy.”

She continued: “But Ryan and I are in love, and we’re enjoying evolving our relationship together. I feel that my life and my work are heading in the right direction.”
She said that she’d even “love to” spend more time in Canada, saying that it’s “such a beautiful country and the people are so friendly. I might get through immigration faster now, too!”
She added: “The most romantic love is seeing people who’ve been together, or who’ve known each other, for a long time - like two best friends, or a husband and wife who’ve been together for 50 years, and are still so excited to see that person come home. It might be rare but that’s the most romantic kind of love.”

Scarlett Johansson's family race

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds are desperate to start a family.

The pair - who married in an intimate ceremony in September - are reportedly keen to have a child as soon as possible, and are already discussing the best time for Scarlett to conceive.

A source told the Chicago Sun Times newspaper: "Scarlett and Ryan are madly in love and want to start a family sooner rather than later. Scarlett is keen to be a young mom and does not plan to be the sort of women who leaves motherhood too late and starts worrying about her biological clock ticking."

The 23-year-old actress - who recently completed filming her new movie 'He's Not That Into You' - isn't due to start working on her next project 'Amazon' until late next year, prompting speculation now could be the perfect time for her to get pregnant.

The pair are also said to be contemplating adopting a child from an American inner city.

Scarlett and Ryan - who began dating in spring 2007 - tied the knot in a remote resort near Vancouver, Canada.

Just weeks before the ceremony, Scarlett had insisted she had no plans to rush into marriage, claiming she was still enjoying being engaged.
